    Welcome!

    Andersen Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I am thrilled to be welcoming your children back to school! We have eagerly anticipated the full reopening of our campus.

Community is the genuine care and compassion shared between staff, students, and parents. Andersen Elementary is a place where staff and families come together to ensure that the children entrusted into our care grow to be productive, confident, compassionate, members of a global society. I look forward to an amazing year!

On behalf of the Andersen Staff, I’d like to extend a warm WELCOME to our new families and a WELCOME BACK to those of you who are returning. I hope that your summer was filled with fun and relaxation and that you made a lot of wonderful memories with family and friends. It’s hard to believe school is starting, but, here we are, ready for a great year!

I look forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our students can achieve their highest potential. Our teachers understand that part of our students’ success relies heavily on the support offered both at school and at home and a strong partnership with you will make a difference in your child’s education. I am certain that our common responsibility for our students' success will provide fruitful outcomes as the year progresses no matter the challenges.

If you have not done so please review the 2021-2022 School Year Handbook located on our website. In this handbook you  will find useful information that can help us move forward with the first days of school. Additionally, please consider becoming involved in our parent community by joining the PTA, DEANs and School Site Council (SSC) that helps guide decisions made here at Andersen. We are always open to finding ways to continue to involve parents/guardians to help create engaging learning environments that will promote success in our children.

Thank you for your continued support as we work together as a school community inspiring our students to strive for and achieve their goals.

    Take care & stay safe-
    Dr. Tiffany Lewis
    Principal, Andersen Elementary

    About Our School

    About Us

Andersen School is located at 1900 Port Seabourne Way within the city of Newport Beach. The school serves approximately 360 students in grades transitional kindergarten through sixth. Our community consists of single-family homes. The school opened in 1973 and is named after a former school superintendent, Roy O. Andersen.

Andersen Elementary was designated a California Distinguished School for the years 1987, 2002, 2008 and 2014. The success of our students is due to the strong partnership that exists in our community. The school staff works closely with parents to promote learning, personal growth, and high self-esteem. The high quality of our staff and active participation of our parent community make for a very successful partnership.

Our mission at Andersen Elementary School is to develop character and to create a positive school environment where learning is a shared responsibility of staff, parents, and community in order to ensure that every student experiences personal success academically, physically, emotionally, and socially.
