Principal's Message

8-31-2020

Andersen Families

I am thrilled to join the Andersen community and want to warmly welcome you to the 2020--2021 school year. As your principal, it is my sincere pleasure to work with our dedicated staff and community. We are committed to ensuring that your children receive the best support to learn and grow.

Though this school year is projected to be different from any other, together, we will continue our tradition of providing high-quality educational experiences to our students. This new learning model does not need to be a barrier, but instead will serve as an opportunity to change our mindset as it relates to the delivery of instruction and engaging students in learning. I want students to leave Andersen with memories that will last a lifetime! We want our students to LOVE learning and LOVE coming to school, even if it is virtually. With your help, we can instill life-long values in our students to work hard, exceed expectations, and to appreciate their education. Though we are forced to adapt our teaching and learning methods to address the conditions of the pandemic, our heart for our students and families remains the same, and we will do everything in our power to keep our students thriving.

My vision for Andersen is to provide students with an educational experience that inspires and motivates them to be lifelong learners and caring contributors to the world around them. Our goal is to provide a nurturing environment that meets the individual needs of each student, both academically and socially.

Families, teachers, support staff, community members, and administration all play a part in helping our students develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Together, we can make a positive difference. A strong partnership between home and school fosters greater success for our children. We encourage parents to communicate with teachers and staff to foster a successful partnership.

We are excited for the opportunity to work with you and your child to provide a safe and productive learning environment. I encourage you to share ideas, concerns, or questions. I wish your family, and especially your student, great success this school year.

Sincerely,

Tiffany Lewis

Andersen Community,

It is with great pride and excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the newly appointed Principal of Andersen Elementary. I am honored to have the opportunity to lead a school with such a rich tradition of education! My most recent administrative experience was at Woodland Elementary, where I served as principal. I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to Andersen and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

Along with the teachers and staff, I will work hard to continue Andersen’s legacy by building strong relationships with parents, students, and community partners. We will focus on character education and empowering teachers and students so that we can continue to increase all of the students' achievement. I have been spending time getting to know the school's community and familiarizing myself with Andersen. In doing so, I've learned that Andersen is a place where strong connections are made between home and school, and staff members are committed to developing the whole child. As the parent of two children, I fully understand the challenges and rewards you face every day to ensure your child has the best educational experience. My passion has been, and always will be educating students. With that in mind, you can expect that I will work diligently with teachers to make sure our students are exposed to curriculum and instruction that is engaging and challenging.

My door is always open, and I welcome your input. Please feel free to contact me to discuss any concerns you might have throughout the school year. I look forward to working with you to help each student at Andersen meet their goals and have a successful school year!

Sincerely,
Tiffany Lewis
