Principal Message

Welcome to 2017-2018

Dear Andersen Families,

On behalf of the Andersen Elementary School staff, welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  I hope your family had a relaxing summer and you were able to spend quality time together.  I certainly enjoyed a few weeks of travel and priceless moments with my kids and grandkids. Please check School Loop on Saturday, September 2, 2017, at 10:00 AM for classroom assignments.

This will be another outstanding year for Andersen Elementary!  Our staff remains committed to our mission of offering a rigorous instructional program, which is both academically challenging and rewarding for ALL students. This year we are excited to begin the implementation our new English Language Arts program, Wonders (K-6) and Mathematics program, Bridges (K-5.)  I am attaching information letters about each program.  Teachers will be covering more information during Back to School Night on September 14 from 6-7:30 pm.

The Andersen Staff will continue to focus on the school-wide theme of the four “R’s”: Respect, Responsible, Ready and Recycle.  With that theme in mind, Andersen is committed to being responsible with our resources by going paperless. In an effort to keep effective communication between home and school please register and read the information sent through our School Loop web system as well as the “Weekly Happenings” message I send out each Friday.  In addition, our PTA and DEANS websites are great sources of information. I encourage you to follow Andersen Elementary on Twitter and or Instagram in order to see firsthand the great learning taking place at Andersen.

Twitter account handle is @andersenelemsc1 and Instagram @andersenelemschool.

School hashtag #andersendolphinpride.

Again, welcome back and thank you for your continued support, time and commitment in making Andersen a magnificent school! I look forward to seeing each of you on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at 8:00 a.m.  Important to note: Parents will say their goodbyes and take their Facebook, Instagram photos outside the classrooms. Look for signs with teacher names and grade levels on the window/door areas where students will line up.   For safety purposes, parents and visitors will not be permitted in the classrooms.

Thank you for your support in our ”Triangle of Success!”!
