Dear Andersen Families,

The Andersen Dolphins completed their first week of STAR testing and will continue next week with the Mathematics portion of the STAR test.  We are very proud of the Andersen students' strong focus and determination to do their personal best.  Thank you families for ensuring your students are on time and ready to go each day! 

Andersen Elementary was recognized this week by the California Business for Education Excellence as an Honor Roll School.  To receive this recognition a school must making significant progress in closing the achievement gap.  The CBEE Honor Roll is the only school recognition program in the state using only student achievement outcomes as the criteria.  Huge congratulations to the Andersen Learning Community!

This weekend our Andersen Math Team will be attending the Orange County Elementary Schools Math Field Day.  Our Math Team led by Andersen’s support teacher, Mrs. Kathy Cook is composed of 4th, 5th, and 6th graders who tried out and have practiced for several months.  This is a great opportunity for our students to join together in promoting excellence in mathematics, team work, achieving goals, and school spirit.  

Additionally, our 4^th grade Hockey Team led by teacher, Mr. Tim Reese, will be putting their hockey skills to the test at the sixth annual S.C.O.R.E. Street Hockey Shootout.  Approximately 350 children from 23 local schools will compete in the tournament this Saturday from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the Honda Center parking lot. 

SAFETY REMINDER:  As a reminder when picking up or dropping off your children, please keep the flow of traffic moving and do not stop or park in the loading and unloading zones. Thank you for your continued support in our “Triangle of Success.”

• June 7 - Family Fun Night 6pm
